APA has made a lot of progress since contract ratification in 2023. But there’s more to do, and my leadership and member-focused approach will help position us for success, now and in the future. We must unite around a shared vision as we march toward Contract 2027. My campaign highlights key initiatives to do just that. We all want a better APA. Let’s build it, together!

My Goal: APA members should shape the future of aviation. I’ll work to strengthen our advocacy with AA workgroups, other airline unions, policymakers, and aircraft manufacturers to secure our place as industry leaders.

ABOUT SCOTT YANCY

Leveraging Aviation Experience for Union Progress

Scott is a recognized leader with a proven track record of service and advocacy. His aviation career began at the U.S. Air Force Academy, leading to a 24-year career as a fighter pilot in the F-15C, F-117, and F-22.

Beyond flying, he served as a seasoned staff officer, where he crafted executive speeches, developed theater campaign strategies, and advised at the highest levels of military command.

These experiences taught him the importance of meticulous planning, clear communication, and an unwavering focus on serving others.

As an American Airlines pilot, Scott has flown as a First Officer on the Airbus A320 and the Boeing 787. Currently, he chairs the Strategic Planning Committee, where he drafted the APA Strategic Plan focused on members, co-authored the APA Communications Plan based on member unity and aligned APA planning with budgeting to promote financial stewardship and transparency.

With a blend of strategic thinking, proven leadership, and a problem-solving mindset, Scott is dedicated to serving the interests of APA members, fostering positive change, and ensuring we are unified and ready for Contract 2027.
